Privacy Policy

What we collect when you shop with us, why we collect it, who helps us handle it, and the choices you have. Written plainly, because you should be able to read it.

Who we are and what this covers

This policy explains how Gilded Grip LLC (“Gilded Grip”, “we”, “us”) handles personal information when you visit gildedgrip.com, buy from us, join the Gilded Club, sign up for our emails or get in touch. We are responsible for that information, and you can reach us at [email protected] or 1309 Coffeen Avenue, Suite 1200, Sheridan, WY 82801, United States.

Personal information means anything that identifies you or can reasonably be linked to you. It doesn’t include information that has been made anonymous.

What we collect

We collect what we need to make your gloves, deliver them and run the shop, and no more.

TypeWhat it includes
Contact detailsYour name, email address, and a phone number if you give one.
Shipping and billingDelivery and billing addresses, including a recipient’s name and address when you send a gift.
OrdersWhat you bought, prices paid, order numbers, delivery status, refunds and your Club membership.
PersonalizationThe initials, hand, size and color you choose for each glove. Initials may be yours or belong to the person you are buying for.
PaymentHandled by Stripe. We receive confirmation of payment and limited details such as the card type and last four digits, never the full card number.
Messages and reviewsWhat you write to us, and any review you submit with your name and email.
Device and usageIP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, items added to your cart, and how you arrived at the site.
Cookie identifiersIdentifiers stored in your browser by us and our partners, described under Cookies and your consent.

Most of this comes from you, when you order, sign up or write to us. Device and usage data is collected automatically as you browse. Our payment, email and advertising partners also tell us things like whether a payment went through, whether an email was opened, and how our ads performed.

We don’t ask for sensitive information such as health details, government ID numbers or precise location, and we ask that you don’t send it.

How we use it

  • To make and deliver your order: stamp your initials, ship your gloves, send order and tracking emails, and handle refunds and replacements.
  • To run your Gilded Club membership: charge the renewals you agreed to and let you skip, pause or cancel.
  • To help you: answer questions and put problems right.
  • To send marketing you asked for: emails about new colors, offers and the game, only if you sign up, and never after you unsubscribe.
  • To measure our advertising: see which ads lead to visits and orders, and show our ads to people likely to be interested, unless you opt out.
  • To keep the shop safe and lawful: prevent fraud, secure the site, and meet our tax, accounting and legal obligations.

We don’t use your information to make automated decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects.

Payments

Card and wallet payments, including Apple Pay and Google Pay, are processed by Stripe. Your card details go straight to Stripe and never touch our servers. If you join the Gilded Club, Stripe securely stores your payment method so renewals can be charged. Stripe also uses payment data to prevent fraud, as described in Stripe’s privacy policy.

Emails from us

We send order confirmations, shipping updates and Gilded Club notices by email. They are part of your order, so they continue even if you unsubscribe from marketing.

Marketing emails go only to people who sign up, and are sent through our email provider, Klaviyo. Every one has an unsubscribe link that works immediately. Klaviyo’s script on our site can recognize you if you have signed up or clicked one of our emails, so we can send relevant follow-ups, such as a reminder about a checkout you started.

Advertising and measurement

We advertise on Facebook and Instagram, which are run by Meta. To see which ads work, we use the Meta Pixel in your browser and Meta’s Conversions API from our server. Together they tell Meta when someone views a page or product, adds to cart, starts checkout, signs up for emails or places an order, along with the order value.

With those events, Meta receives your IP address, browser details and Meta’s own cookie identifiers. For orders and email sign-ups, it also receives your email address in scrambled (hashed) form, so Meta can match the event to an account without us sending the address in readable form. We never send Meta your initials, delivery address or payment details.

Meta uses this to measure our ads and help show them to people likely to be interested, under Meta’s privacy policy. Under some US state laws this counts as “sharing” personal information for targeted advertising, or as a “sale”, even though no money changes hands. You can opt out at any time on our Your privacy choices page, by declining cookies in our cookie bar, or by turning on Global Privacy Control in your browser. Once you opt out, we stop sending your activity on this site to Meta from that browser.

Cookies and your consent

Cookies and similar browser storage let the site remember things. We use three kinds.

KindWhat it doesCan you turn it off?
EssentialKeeps your cart, remembers your privacy choice, keeps you signed in if you use your account, and lets Stripe spot fraud at checkout.No. The shop can’t work without them.
EmailKlaviyo’s cookie recognizes you if you have signed up for or clicked our emails.Yes: unsubscribe, or clear your cookies.
AdvertisingMeta’s cookies (such as _fbp and _fbc) link your visits to our ads.Yes, in one click. See below.

On your first visit, our cookie bar asks you to accept or decline, and declining is exactly as easy as accepting. Advertising cookies stay on unless you decline them, opt out on the Your privacy choices page, or your browser sends Global Privacy Control. You can change your mind on that page at any time. Your browser settings also let you block or delete cookies, though the cart won’t work without the essential ones.

Global Privacy Control

If your browser or an extension sends the Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of sale, sharing and targeted advertising for that browser. Ad tracking simply stays off, with nothing for you to click. We don’t respond to the older “Do Not Track” setting, which never became an agreed standard; Global Privacy Control replaces it. You can learn more at globalprivacycontrol.org.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only with companies that help us run the shop, and only what each needs.

  • Stripe processes payments and helps prevent fraud.
  • Klaviyo sends our emails.
  • Meta measures our advertising, as described above, unless you opt out.
  • Our workshop and shipping carriers receive the names, addresses and personalization needed to make and deliver your order.
  • Our hosting and database providers store the site and our order records.
  • Professional advisers and authorities, such as our accountants and lawyers, or a court or regulator when the law requires it.

If Gilded Grip is ever sold or merged, customer information may pass to the new owner, who must honor this policy. We don’t sell personal information for money, and apart from Meta’s advertising use described above, our providers may use it only to provide their services to us.

Your privacy rights

Depending on the state you live in, US privacy laws give you the right to:

  • Know and access the personal information we hold about you, and receive a copy in a portable format.
  • Correct information that is wrong.
  • Delete information we hold about you, apart from records we must keep by law, such as tax records for orders.
  • Opt out of sale, sharing and targeted advertising, using our Your privacy choices page or Global Privacy Control.
  • Appeal if we turn down your request.

We honor these requests from every customer, wherever you live in the US. To make one, email [email protected] from the address you ordered with, and include your order number if you have one. We confirm receipt within 10 business days and respond within 45 days. If we need longer, we will tell you why and take no more than another 45 days. We verify requests by matching the details you send to our records. You may use an authorized agent, and we will ask for proof that they can act for you.

If we deny your request, reply to our answer and ask us to reconsider. We will respond to your appeal within 60 days. If you are still unhappy, you can contact your state attorney general.

We will never charge you more, give you a worse service or treat you differently for using any of these rights.

How long we keep it

  • Orders and payment records: for as long as tax and accounting laws require, typically up to seven years.
  • Gilded Club memberships: while your membership is active, then as part of your order records.
  • Marketing lists: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete you. After you unsubscribe, we keep your email on a do-not-send list so you aren’t emailed again.
  • Messages to us: for as long as we need them to help you and keep a record of what we agreed.
  • Cookies and browser storage: for the lifetime set by each cookie, or until you clear them. Your privacy choice stays in your browser until you clear its site data.

Keeping it safe

The site runs over encrypted HTTPS, access to customer records is limited to the people who need it, and card payments are handled by Stripe, which is certified to PCI DSS Level 1, the payment industry’s highest security standard. No system is perfectly secure, so we can’t promise that information will never be exposed. If a breach affects you, we will tell you as the law requires.

Children

Our shop is for adults. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16, and we don’t sell or share it. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.

Visitors outside the US

Gilded Grip is a US shop and our checkout ships to US addresses only. The information we collect is stored and processed in the United States.

Changes to this policy

When our practices change, we update this page and the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will tell you by email or with a notice on the site before it applies.
